What Is MOTS-C?
MOTS-C (mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type-c) is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded within the mitochondrial genome. It was described in 2015 and belongs to a group researchers call mitochondrial-derived peptides, alongside compounds such as humanin.
In the research literature, MOTS-C is studied in cell and animal models of mitochondrial signaling and metabolic pathways. Published findings are preclinical and are not a basis for any claim about effects in people.
How to Choose a MOTS-C Listing
- Decide on the format your protocol needs: vial or pen.
- Check the stated amount (10mg) and the live price and stock on the card.
- Open the product page and review the COA for the current batch.
- Confirm the exact item in your cart before checkout; the vial and pen are separate products.

Batch Documentation and COAs
Where a certificate of analysis (COA) is published for a MOTS-C batch, it appears on the product page and in the COA library. A useful COA check has four parts:
- Match the product name and strength on the COA to the listing in your cart.
- Match the batch or lot number to the batch you receive.
- Check the test method (for example HPLC for purity and mass spectrometry for identity) and the reported result.
- Check the test date and the name of the lab that ran it.

Storage and Handling Basics
Follow the storage instructions on the label and product page for each item. As general laboratory practice for vials and pens:
- Keep unopened product sealed, dry and away from direct light and heat.
- Log the batch number and the date each item is received and opened.
- Use clean technique and single-use consumables when handling.
- Label any prepared material with the compound, concentration, date and batch.
- Dispose of used consumables and expired material according to your facility rules.

MOTS-C FAQ
Where can I buy MOTS-C in Canada?
Axon Peptide Labs lists MOTS-C 10mg as a vial and as a pen on this page, with live price and stock. Orders ship within Canada; costs are shown at checkout.
What is MOTS-C?
MOTS-C is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded in the mitochondrial genome and studied in mitochondrial and metabolic pathway research.
What is the difference between the MOTS-C vial and pen?
Both contain 10mg. The vial is lyophilized material the lab prepares itself; the pen is a pre-formatted research pen with fewer handling steps.
How is MOTS-C spelled?
You will see MOTS-C, MOTS-c and MOTSc. They all refer to the same peptide.
Is there a COA for MOTS-C?
Available batch documentation is shown on each MOTS-C product page and in the COA library.
Is MOTS-C for human use?
No. All products are sold strictly for laboratory research use and are not for human or animal consumption. Axon Peptide Labs does not provide dosing or administration guidance.
